About Key 2 Speech ~ Our Beginning

Key 2 Speech came to be in the fall of 2020 while lying in the hammock, praying, reflecting on our future, and studying the trees above me. Due to COVID, I had just resigned from my 20+ year career as a school-based speech and language pathologist.

I had received my undergraduate degree in Communication Science/Disorders from Northern State University (1995), worked in the schools, received my Master’s Degree in SLP from the University of South Dakota (2014), and returned to the school setting.  Then, when the schools closed in March 2020 due to COVID, I dove into the world of private practice including telepractice/virtual therapy and in-person therapy.

I knew I wanted to continue to help others. I have met so many inspirational clients from those striving to correct speech sound errors, improve social and language skills and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users. There's nothing better than the pride on a client's face when they meet a goal and realize their words matter!

So, under the pine trees that fall day, I learned God was calling me to do more, to take the next step. Key 2 Speech LLC started in 2020 with virtual services and has expanded to in-office services. We created this company to provide individuals with access to quality speech & language therapy because it's a basic human right to have your voice heard.  Communication is the key and I'm here to help you!

God Bless,
