Language therapy addresses receptive, expressive or mixed skills. A receptive language disorder is one in which a person struggles to understand and process messages and information received from others. An expressive language disorder refers to difficulty using language which is spoken, written or conveyed with other sign/symbol systems. Language disorders may be developmental or acquired (brain injury).
